EURO 2006 ExperienceEuromilitaire has become a mecca for military miniaturists anad again this year the pilgrimage to Folkestone was done by the following SSM members; Steve Mallia, Ray Farrugia, Harold Stivala, Ivan Cocker and Matthew Mifsud. For the first time, Ray and Steve experienced the trill of being part of the figurines judging panel. Euromilitaire is the biggest international competition annually held in UK, mainly it’s dedicated to military subjects but this year there was an introduction of a fantasy category. Overall the Maltese team participated in 8 categories and gethered 12 awards among them a Silver which went to Harold in the Painted Bust category and a Bronze to Ivan in the AFV Vignette category. The best of show this year went to UK, a brilliantly executed AFV Vignettes presented by Phil Stutcinskas. The magic of Euromilitaire is not only the competition and shopping frenzy but meeting, chatting and the gethering of an international crowd of ‘crazy’ modellers ... and when all is over you already start looking forward to prepare for the next Euromilitaire!
